In the context of his bachelor thesis Jonas Staus dealt with topology optimization.
Using the Abaquus software and the Toska add-on module (both provided by the company Wölfel Engineering), an individually shaped bicycle saddle was analysed. On the basis of given loads and the available volume, the software calculated the ideal structure of the bicycle saddle. With the support of the SKZ, an SLS sample of the bicycle saddle was also created at the end. As a reward for the efforts, this thesis was awarded as the best of its year with the ALLOD Material Award.
